Fears that the Democrats were about to lose their hold on the New Mexican governorship abated Saturday night with the release of the final ABQ Journal
poll showing the Governor sporting a sizable 8 point lead, despite being pummeled in late TV ads by opponent Mark Ronchetti over high crime and a sex harassment case she settled.
MLG had 50 percent, Ronchetti 42, Libertarian Karen Bedonie 3 percent and 5 percent were undecided.
The poll, taken October 20-27, showed MLG with 65 percent of Hispanic women favoring her re-election.
The margin of error in the poll is only 2.8 percent and her lead is outside that range.
More to come.
